On August 16, 2021, JAI gained several hotel projects at various phases, five new clients, and two new employees from a longtime colleague. The projects range from renovations to new builds.

Jennifer Mock joined JAI as Operations Director. Jennifer comes to us with many years of banking and financial experience.  Her role includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and human resources.

Melissa Sears joined JAI as Studio Designer. Melissa comes to us with high-end residential and multi-family design experience as well as hospitality design. She is well versed in logistics and strategic planning.

A New Chapter for JAI

The on-boarding process over the past 45 days has been challenging but rewarding. We have started building great relationships. This is the foundation I have built my business on over the past 20 years, and plan to continue into the future.

The most challenging part of this transition has been juggling all the responsibilities at once. Each new client comes with a new team of experts we have to collaborate with. The teams are generally composed of architects, engineers, project managers, lighting designers, kitchen consultants, landscape designers, and general managers. Two of our new clients have two projects each, so this adds another layer to the puzzle. We are grateful for the consultants that helped us for 45 days in the background to make this transition as smooth as possible. They offered project history and production assistance until we felt fully educated and could take the projects over as our own.

I would like to add how extremely proud I am of JAI’s Senior Designers, Christina Kirkpatrick and Jennifer Lindner, who embraced this transition immediately. They amazed me at how quickly they immersed themselves and learned all these projects as their own. I knew they would welcome Jenn Mock and Melissa with open arms and embrace them as part of the JAI family because that is what we do at JAI. I believe in my heart that Christina and Jenn Lindner returned to JAI eighteen months ago in preparation for a transition such as this. Without their hard work and dedication, this may not have been possible.
